Mary Wiencke is the Executive Director of the Public Generating Pool (PGP), which is composed of eleven consumer-owned electric utilities serving almost 1.5 million customers throughout Oregon and Washington. PGP member utilities own approximately 8,000 MW of generating resources and purchase 45 percent of the requirements power sold by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). PGP strives to monitor and analyze regional issues with the goal of developing informed perspectives and joining in meaningful dialogue.
Prior to joining PGP, Mary Wiencke was the Vice President of Market, Regulation, and Transmission Policy for PacifiCorp. In that role, she developed and provided strategic direction on PacifiCorp’s environmental, transmission and market policies. Prior to this role, Ms. Wiencke held various roles at PacifiCorp including Senior Attorney and Director, Environmental Policy at PacifiCorp. In those capacities, Ms. Wiencke represented the company in both state and federal regulatory matters related to a range of topics including transmission service, reliability standards, resource planning, resource acquisition, renewable portfolio standards, and emissions reporting requirements.
