Michael Kunselman is a partner in Davis Wright Tremaine LLP’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm’s energy group.
Mr. Kunselman’s practice focuses primarily on electricity regulation, and he represents a broad array of industry participants across the country, including investor-owned utilities, transmission owners, generation owners and developers, and an independent system operator.
Mr. Kunselman began his career litigating issues involving the California energy crisis, and since then has been involved in most of the key regulatory issues facing the electric industry. He has extensive experience with transmission planning and policy matters, including implementation and compliance with FERC Order Nos. 890 and 1000.
Mr. Kunselman has been recognized by Chambers USA as one the nation’s leading lawyers in electricity regulation. He holds B.A. and J.D. degrees, both from the University of Maryland.
