Jennifer Mersing is a member of K&L Gates’ power practice group. Her practice focuses on energy regulatory and interconnection issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mersing was an of counsel at a national law firm. There she concentrated her practice on electric regulatory issues involving the FERC and certain state energy regulatory law matters, with a focus on renewable energy projects. She has advised and assisted with regulatory compliance for independent power producers, electric utilities, transmission providers, large industrial consumers of power and energy marketers regarding issues under the Federal Power Act (FPA), the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA), and the Public Utility Holding Company Act (PUHCA).
Ms. Mersing also advised clients regarding electric interconnection agreements, shared facilities agreements and power purchase agreements. She has provided regulatory support for renewable energy project finance transactions and M&A transactions.
She holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
